Reserving Clickers

Clicker requests are limited to faculty and staff.

To reserve clickers for your class or event, contact Staley Library ( or call (217) 424-6214 and ask to speak to one of the librarians.

Please request clickers at least one week in advance.

The Educational Technology Coordinator can provide training to instructors and can demonstrate them in a class, if necessary.

We currently own enough clickers to support a group of up to 80 individuals.

What are Clickers?

Clicker technology, commonly referred to as a student response system, provides students with active learning opportunities. Working within Microsoft PowerPoint, you pose a question, poll the students, and get instant feedback. Clickers are useful for examining students' prior knowledge on a topic, reviewing content, or helping to serve as a gateway to in-depth classroom discussion.

No Clickers? No Problem!

Going to a conference?  All of the clickers are checked out?  You want something fast and easy to just do one or two polls during class?

  • Poll Everywhere
Free online polling program - participants vote with their smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
