Get Started with Moodle

Re-using a Course

You can re-use a Moodle course from a previous semester, provided that it still exists in Moodle.

We retain Moodle courses for three semesters following the conclusion of the semester in question.  If you wish to maintain course files that are older than three semesters, you will need to download the zip file and maintain it on your own computer.

Attendance Tracking

Want to track student attendance in Moodle?  Get started with the Attendance Activity using these three videos.

MPSL Artifcats

Students taking IN 140/183, 150, 151, 250, 251, & 350 in both the traditional undergraduate and PACE programs are required to submit artifacts of their coursework for program assessment.  We collect these artifacts through the use of special Moodle courses.

The instructions below may be reproduced by faculty, either in print or electronically.  Please distribute them to your students so they can participate in  assessment.

Moodle Enrollment

Students and faculty who appear on the official course roster in MU Online will automatically be added to the appropriate Moodle course within 48 hours of their registration.

Faculty are NOT PERMITTED to add students to courses.  Please send the student to the Registrar's Office so that their registration can be handled through the proper channels.

For "special" Moodles (for faculty committees, student groups, etc.), the Educational Technology Coordinator will handle enrollments.  Please contact her to discuss your needs ( or (217) 424-3692).
