Introduction

In ES 360, you will be learning about nutritional issues throughout the world with an emphasis on low-income and middle-income countries.

This guide will assist you in finding sources for your assignments (concentrating on articles) and provide resources and practice with APA style.

Learning Goals

To demonstrate basic information literacy competency in this area, students will:

  • Identify the main concepts of their research question
  • Develop a list of appropriate search terms based on those main concepts, making use of synonyms, related, broader, and narrower terms when relevant
  • Select appropriate research databases for their research question and conduct searches in them using relevant keywords and basic Boolean logic
  • Conduct research, including using primary sources, to analyze a topic related to global food practices and associated ethical and social justice
  • Revise their search strategy, as needed, based on the relevancy and quality of their results to their research question
  • Seek the assistance of a librarian, when needed
