Children's & Teen Choice Book Awards
Awards for: Kindergarten to 2nd grade book of the year, 3rd to 4th grade book of the year, 5th to 6th grade book of the year, teen choice book of the year, author of the year and illustrator of the year.
Children's Literature Assembly Notables List
A yearly list of 30 titles chosen by the Children's Literature Assembly of the National Council of Teachers of English in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, grades K-8.
Coretta Scott King Book Award
African American authors and illustrators.
Dolly Gray Children's Literature Award
Author and illustrator (if appropriate) of a children's picture book and/or a juvenile/young adult chapter book that includes appropriate portrayals of individuals with developmental disabilities.
For comics and graphic novels. The categories relevant to children's and YA literature are: Best Publication for Early Readers (up to age 7), Best Publication for Kids (ages 8-12), & Best Publication for Teens (ages 13-17).
Ezra Jack Keats Book Award
Awards for new writer and new illustrator.
Fabulous Films for Young Adults
Selected to appeal to young adults with varied tastes and interests.
Golden Kite Award
An award for the best children's books of the year, as judged by children's book illustrators and writers. Awards for fiction, nonfiction, picture book text, picture book illustration, and humor.

Jane Addams Book Award
Children's books promoting peace and social justice.
Middle East Book Awards
The Middle East Book Award recognizes quality books for children and young adults that contribute meaningfully to an understanding of the Middle East and its component societies and cultures.
NCSS (National Council for the Social Studies) Notable Tradebooks for Young People
For children aged K- grade 8, includes fiction and nonfiction that "emphasizes human relations, represent a diversity of groups and are sensitive to a broad range of cultural experiences.
NCTE Award for Excellence in Poetry for Children
Honors a living American poet for his or her lifetime work for children ages 3–13.
NCTE Orbis Pictus Award
For excellence in nonfiction for children.
Producer of best audiobook in English for children and/or young adults.
PEN/ Steven Kroll Award for Picture Book Writing
The PEN awards prizes in categories in adult fiction and nonfiction writing as well, but this award honors the writers of picture book text.
Popular Paperbacks for Young Adults
Popular books, for ages 12-18, to encourage teens to read for pleasure.
Pura Belpré Award
Latino/Latina authors and illustrators.

Books that illuminate the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender experience.
Sydney Taylor Book Awards
Books that "authentically portray the Jewish experience," three award levels: younger readers, older readers, & teen readers.
Book that exemplifies literary excellence, widespread appeal, and a positive approach to life in young adult literature.

Charlotte Zolotow Award
Given annually to the author of the best picture book text published in the United States in the preceding year. From the University of Wisconsin-Madison CCBC.
CCBC booklists feature CCBC-recommended books organized around a variety of themes and topics. Many of the lists feature books for readers across a range of ages and will be found in more than one of the categories below.
