Interlibrary Loan: Requesting Staley Library Items for Pick-up

A how-to guide to requesting materials through Staley Library's interlibrary loan service.

Introduction - Requesting Items for Pick-up

Millikin University students, faculty, administrators, and staff can easily request items from Staley Library's collection to be delivered for pick-up at the library's circulation desk, much like they are used to doing with interlibrary loan (ILL) items!

Please note:

  • We will hold requested items for 7 days, after which any unretrieved items will be returned to our shelves.

Instructions - Requesting Staley Library Items for Pick-up

When you have searched and found a Staley Library item that interests you, click on the title. You can now see more information about the item's location; if you are logged in you will see how long you can check it out and you will see an option to Request the item.

After clicking Request, you will see a brief form that allows you to select where you want to pick up the item (most likely Millikin University). When you are done, click Send Request. You will see a green message telling you your request has been submitted.

When the item is available, you will receive an email when the item is ready for pickup at the Library Services Desk in the University Commons. If the item is currently checked out to another patron, a hold will be placed and you will receive an email when the item is available to pickup.
