Introduction

Have you ever found an article in one of our subscription databases that you want to share with your class through Moodle?

Many of our databases provide a feature known as a persistent link (also sometimes called a permalink, static URL, or stable URL) to their content. This guide will walk you through how to use these links in your Moodle courses.

If you do not see a guide for the particular database you are wanting to link to, please contact Amanda Pippitt for assistance.

Using these Links from Off-Campus

Most of these links will go directly to the resource and provide full text access right away from off-campus, but some require an additional authentication process.

If you are using a database link from off-campus and it does not provide full access to the resource, try the following:

  • Look for a sign-in or login option and click on it (you may then need to look for an option that says "OpenAthens"
  • Search for Millikin as an institution, and if found, select it
  • This should direct you to myMillikin, where you can login and then access the resource fully
