2)  On the new page, click on "cite" and find the APA citation for the article

APA Citation

Copy the URL in the last part of the citation (the URL beginning https://doi.org/....)  (highlight, then ctrl + c, or right click + "copy"). Do not copy the link in the browser bar.

5)  On the next screen, type in the information for the article in the "name" and "description" blanks (you may wish to copy and paste the citation from the database).

  • For example:

Ng, Yeow, FNP-BC, NP-C, CPC, FAANP, Mayeux, Jack & DNP, FNP-C. (2021). Initiating pre-exposure prophylaxis: What primary care providers should know. Nurse Practitioner, 46, 17-22. https://doi.org/10.1097/01.NPR.0000757076.21006.50

6)  To get the best link for the Moodle box labeled "external URL,"

  • First, open a new browser tab to this website: https://go.openathens.net/generate/millikin.edu/71974512
  • Second, paste the specific article's URL, as copied from the APA citation in step 2) into the box labeled "enter your links." (if Millikin University isn't already selected in the organisation box, search for and select it.)

Enter your links

  • Look for the newly generated "OpenAthens" link and click the "Copy" button next to it:

OA Ovid link

You must add the OpenAthens link to Moodle if you want students from off-campus to access the article.

7)  Click "save and return to course." Test the link to make sure it works.

5)  On the next screen, type in the information for the article in the "name" and "description" blanks (you may wish to copy and paste the citation from the database).

  • For example:

Harper, Kimberly, MS, RN & Benson, Laurie. (2021). The Value of Including the Nursing Perspective in the Boardroom. Nursing Administration Quarterly, 45, 192-196. https://doi.org/10.1097/NAQ.0000000000000470

6)  To get the best link for the Moodle box labeled "external URL,"

  • First, paste the accession number you copied above into the box.

00006216-202107000-00005

  • Second, copy this URL in front of the number/above information, so that there is no space between the equal sign and the number.

https://openathens.ovid.com/OAKeystone/deeplink?idpselect=https://idp.millikin.edu/openathens&entityID=https://idp.millikin.edu/openathens&T=JS&NEWS=n&PDF=Y&CSC=Y&PAGE=fulltext&D=ovft&AN=

https://openathens.ovid.com/OAKeystone/deeplink?idpselect=https://idp.millikin.edu/openathens&entityID=https://idp.millikin.edu/openathens&T=JS&NEWS=n&PDF=Y&CSC=Y&PAGE=fulltext&D=ovft&AN=00006216-202107000-00005
